My top comedy picks for Brighton Fringe 2016 @brightonfringe #BrightonFringe #Brighton

The Brighton Fringe website has been launched today and I have all the butterflies in my tummy as I had this time last year. I am so excited to be involved again. It's almost boarding on ridiculous.

I have had a peak at the website and the Brighton Fringe comedy section so have complied my annual 'Comedy top picks' to give you a guide of who to go and see. Who to go and see is a question I get asked a million times in the lead up and during the fringe so it helps to point people to this blog.

Please do pass this blog list on to anyone who loves comedy and is interested in the Brighton Fringe. My advice is to get the brochure and a pen then circle my recommendations in it. Good Luck and enjoy!

First up is my show, 'Made in Cumbria' which is a comedy show where I play five different characters all northern or associated with the north. Last year I was part of the Laughing Horse free fringe at the Quadrant and packed out the room on all my shows.

This year for the Brighton Fringe 2016 I am doing my new and improved show with Lamb Comedy Productions - who I really love. I will be at the Nowhere Man Cafe in Brighton with my new spruced up version of the show. There will even be one or two new characters. Exciting stuff. Make sure you don't miss it.

Jane Postlethwaite - Made in Cumbria

I will also be doing hosting the Brighton Fringe / Festival special Bad Book Project where we will be at the Marwood Coffee Shop & Studios having very funny people read from really bad books.

The night will be on Thursday 12 May. It will be FREE. Add youself to the event at https://www.facebook.com/events/217374048599081/  We have some very special guests who will be coming along to read!

Funny Women - Time of the Month
As i was a Funny Women Award Finalist in 2015, I am also hosting the Funny Women event 'Time of the Month' at the Komedia, Brighton. Get more info and tickets at https://www.brightonfringe.org/box-office/shows/view/funny-women-time-month

Rachel Parris - Best Laid Plans
Great songs and comedy.

Super Ape Man (The Paul F Taylor Story)
Don't think I have ever seen Paul live but have heard lots of great things about him so will be checking him out.

Cheekykita - Mancunian horrorish fish tale
This woman has to be one of the funniest people I have seen on stage. She has no fear and is as surreal as surreal can be. You are guarenteed belly laughs. Plus, she is northern.

Ellie Taylor
Always polished and great comedy.

Jo Neary - Does animals and men
Lots of character comedy fun and will have you laughing within minutes.

Sean McLoughlin - kamikaze
As I said last year on my blog, if you go see Sean's show you will come out with a crush on him. He is also very good at comedy. He also likes being called, 'TV's Sean McLoughlin' in real life so make sure you do that.

Jenny Collier - Jen at work
I haven't seen Jen live yet and I am really looking forward to. I follow her on social media and she is very funny.

Tessa Waters Over Promises
Tessa is an expert in pysical comedy and really hilarious.

 Louise Reay - Que Sera??
I first saw Louise perform her all Chinese comedy show at Lamb Comedy last year. She is so brilliant and there is certainly no one else doing what she is doing.

Funny Women Awards
This was me last year! Go support new talent and have a really fun night.

Mummy, I dont like those men
Graeme Collard, Dave Fensome and Joe Foster are three of my favourite comedians and friends on the Brighton comedy scene. I can't wait to see this show. I love the photo. Plus, they are with Lamb Comedy Productions like me.

Lamb Chops - Lamb Comedy Productions
Confused about which comedy show to see? Lamb Comedy can help.
Join Lamb for the Ultimate Launch Party, and for our post-roast Bank Holiday Show. Last year sold out in record time so make sure you get tickets.

Lambs in sheeps clothing - Lamb Comedy Productions
Introducing a brand new character comedy show! For one night only, we're playing dress up and bringing you the best in character comedy from Brighton and beyond.

Hannah Brackenbury - Jumbled
Another one of my favourite people and comedians. Always funny and clever songs

Kitten Killers
I see these ladies each year and always have a great time. Sketch comedy.

Naomi Petersen - I told you I am not going
This just looks very interesting. "Rosie is living in the theatre due to a case of agoraphobia"

Lamb Comedy - Lambs to the slaughter
Lambs to the s-Laughter showcases the very best of new comedy talent from around the UK. At Lamb we want to share our favourite new acts with you in this hour of new material from up-and-coming comedians. Six acts for the price of one - what more could you want?!

James McDonnell - Beef
Another Brighton comedy scene favourite and a friend. Expect lots of laughs and hilarious songs.

Sami Stone - Roof
Have never seen Sam do a full hour so will be lovely to watch a whole show. Plus, £1 from each ticket supports the Emmaus charity.

Mat Ewins and John Kearns
I am already a big fan of Kearns and have heard great things about Mat Ewins

Sarah Kendall - Plus Support
I have been a fan of Sarah's work from many years and have been looking forward to seeing her live.

Debra Stephenson - Night of one hundred voices
This just excites me and looks like really great fun!

Rob Dumbrell - Life in Progress
Another of my friends and part of the active Brighton comedy scene bringing his first solo hour to the fringe. The whole show is totally underwater. Ok, not really, but it would be extra cool if it was.

Alice Marshall - Vicious
I have never heard of Alice, but can see she also does comedy characters as well as me so I'm definitely up for seeing the show.

I am a huge fan Beasts! They are consistently funny and have very original sketches.

Fraser Geesin - Jack of all polymaths
Another of my comedy friends. Frasers work uses powerpoint and will keep you laughing at sometimes surreal jokes.

Ade Foiadelli - Arrow meet brain
I made friends with Ade in a kitchen. "Ade takes all the things you hold dear and does unspeakable things to them right in front of your brain." Yes, he does.

Adrienne Truscott's Asking For It: A One-Lady Rape About Comedy Starring Her Pussy and Little Else
Haven't seen Adrienne live but have heard amazing things about this show.

President Obonjo - The Rise of a Comedy Dictator
Seen the President live and he is very funny.

Helen Duff - Smasher
Never seen or heard of Helen before. I was drawn in by her sold out Edinburgh fringe statement. I think it would be worth a look.

Alison Thea-Skot -  Some like it Thea Skot
I have heard great things about Alison and looking forward to seeing her live.

Lynn Ruth Miller - Your Future
A favourite person of mine who is always so positive and ambitious. Make sure you check out Lynn Ruth's show.

A good friend of mine and great comedian. Go see his show for lots of laughs.

Never heard of them but looks like an female sketch interesting act

Alasdair Beckett King - Mysteries
I have seen Alasdair live years ago and he was very original. Haven't seen him for ages so be interesting to see what his hour show brings.

Jessica Fostekew - Monster Cardigan
I have been following Jessica on social media so will be great to see her live and in person.

Gein's Family Giftshop's Trophy Collection
I have already booked my ticket for this award winning Northern sketch group who will be performing at the Komedia at the end of May after hearing them on the Comedians Comedian podcast.

Horace - Brother and sister, Jack (Durham Revue: So You Think You're Funny semi-finalist) and Anna (Bristol Revunions: Fish Finger Fridays) find themselves at another bizarre family wedding. Sounds brilliant!!!

Hope this is helpful to you all.

I'll be blogging and podcasting about the Brighton Fringe in the run up and duration. I will update my blog with people who I have been to see in comedy, theatre and dance so will give you more recommendations along the way.
